Dr Enelli Murali Darshan is a renowned academician, foreign trade expert and policy expert, business consultant, and social activist. He has taught at the prestigious Indian Institute and Foreign Trade (1996 to 2006) as Assistant Professor and also as Program Coordinator and Program Director. Subsequently was a visiting professor at Western International University, the USA where he taught International Business and International Business Environment. From 2011 to the present he has been a Visiting Faculty at the Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP) where he teaches International Marketing and Principles of Marketing Management. He also serves as an academic member of the Governing Body of IIP. He is also a visiting faculty, since 2017, at the National Institute of Hospitality Management, Hyderabad and teaches Strategic Management. Dr Darshan has been working as an adjunct faculty for the past two academic years at JNTU-H teaching Entrepreneurship, Human Values and Ethics, Training and Development for the 4th year students and success stories of entrepreneurs for 5th year students in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering Departments.
Dr Darshan has been responsible for conceiving, designing, and helping implement/start many innovative academic and training programs at top-notch universities like JNTU, Central Government institutes like the National Institute of Small Industries Entrepreneur Training (NISIET, where he trained IAS officers of SAARC Countries on NTM’s and NTB’s), prominent all India trade bodies like Federation of Indian Export Organization (FIEO), Federation of Indian Chamber of Commerce (FICCI), Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI), an innumerable number of private educational institutions all across India, including Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, Hyderabad, Dayanand Sagar University, Bangalore, and the prestigious Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (where he conducted a seminar on how to sustain in Global Markets in 2006). At the School of Management Studies, JNTU, Dr Darshan was instrumental in designing and starting an MBA program in International Business. At the National Institute of pharmaceutical education and research developed and started an MBA in Pharma.
Dr Darshan, over the past year, has been involved with programs of the GTZ-German technical cooperation agency, in training senior bureaucrats and technocrats in various South Asian and South-East Asian Countries. He is the cornerstone of many of these programs in building capacities in those countries with respect to foreign trade and emerging as competitive players in global markets. In addition, he has also taught in various institutes and universities abroad, such as Kolege Putra, Malaysia, RAFFLES Academy, Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland and Ashland University, Ohio, USA.
Dr Darshan has played important role in setting up business across many verticals both in India and abroad. He was the main guiding force in the setting up of Velbee Foods, located near ramoji Film City. Velbee foods now export various agri-products to Europe and Russia and have grown from sourcing from 5 farmers to 3600 farmers in Warangal, Mahaboobnagar, and Kurnool. Dr Darshan was also retained by APCO and LID CAP to provide them with a blueprint to resuscitate those public sector units, making them global players and helping generate employment. From 2015-to 16, as a special advisor, he has helped set up a Coffee Plant in Kalwakurthy, Mahaboobnagar and helped make it to Rs 250 crores turnover, chiefly through exports. He is right now engaged in negotiating with the Ugandan Government for the setting up of a coffee plant to cater to the European markets.
Dr Darshan is a prolific writer and is engaged in sophisticated research in the area of International Trade and Marketing. His papers include (among many): “FTA’s in Asia – The Rise, Causes and Prospects of Regional FTAs”, presented at the 4th Global Economic Summit; “Impact of WTO on Jobs and Democracy”, OU Journal of Management, June 2006; and “India’s Export Competitiveness in Global Markets” published by FIEO and FICCI as the main paper for their seminar in 2006; “Information Technology – An Effective Tool for Marketing” Indian Marketing Journal 2001. Dr Darshan can be of great help in bringing students of different countries in getting educated here because of his network with different countries across the world.
